Some kids act as you say, but many are FLK's - "Funny Looking Kids" that just seem a bit off, with full eye contact and lots of ideas about how things should be. True that social contact is an issue and lots of thing have to be learned, but I have a number of clients with playmates, learning in regular school and doing pretty well all round.
